The Small Factory Ring is an exhibition of a unique concept of component jewellery by Japanese designer Kaori Tazoe hosted at Gallerysmith in North Melbourne.

Tazoe’s art jewellery is produced in Tokyo. The Small Factory Ring is a jewellery concept that contains a base band/ring and many ornamental heads which can be interchanged to create an infinite number of design possibilities. These wearable designs are made from machined metals including stainless steel and brass, with ornamental heads which are hand-crafted from metal, Japanese jade, Australian opal and Akoya pearls. Every element of The Small Factory Ring are immaculately presented within bespoke stainless steel housing boxes.

This satellite exhibition The Small Factory Ring celebrates the elegance and ingenuity of Tazoe’s design concept and considers sustainable design.
