Designers, retailers, and distributors of independent design products come together in the Royal Exhibition Building as it is transformed into a magical space. Expect a fresh line-up of boutique homewares, hand-made ceramics, limited edition art prints, Australian made fashion, unique jewellery, stationery and much more. This event includes a free creative program for kids, a major installation created by Brisbane designer Mulganai’s Emma Hollingsworth, and a fashion runway featuring looks by twenty of The Big Design Market’s fashion designers.

Mulganai

Mulganai’s Emma Hollingsworth is a Kaanju, Kuku Ya’u, Girramay woman who grew up in tropical far north Queensland. Her works are a reflection of her heritage and culture. Emma’s style of creativity tells her story and brings her culture to life using vibrant colour and designs.

Bridget Bodenham

Bridget Bodenham’s pieces have been made with a fierce love for ceramics. From the wheel, through hands, and kiln firings and finally to the customer, each creation is unique, designed with function and beauty in mind. Creating tactile and unique forms is Bridget’s biggest passion.

Georgia Perry

Georgia’s vibrant work spans illustration, graphic design, product design and animation. The Melbourne-based artist is known for her bold use of colour and energetic, playful creations.

Waverley Mills

For 150 years, Waverley Mills have been crafting Australia’s finest textiles at their historic weaving mill situated on the idyllic banks of Distillery Creek in Launceston. They are the last mill of their kind in Australia and are proud to spin, weave and finish each blanket, throw and scarf onsite in Tasmania.

Sarah Capon

Sarah is an illustrator and animator based in Brisbane, known as eyepicturethis online. She brings her digital illustrations into the physical world in a unique way. Sarah uses layered paper to create colourful, joyful and detailed pieces of art.

Scribbler Gear

Scribbler is an Auckland based business, producing technical rainwear made with recycled plastic. They create ‘feel good’ raincoats in amazing colours and patterns for women, with matching coats for furry friends.
