Seating availableFashun Phopar is a curated waste and radical fashion practice pop-up showcasing a collection of local designers and artists’ work. Each design is set within an imagined future world, ‘The Isle of Passé’. In this world the raw resources of our planet have been exhausted through over extraction, yet contemporary production and consumption practices live on through the reproduction of ‘waste’ materials. Through unconventional methods of making, these designers challenge normative practices of production and consumption within the fashion industry. The designers specialise in crafting clothing and objects with a focus on waste and multifaceted afterlife of both material and garment.
The pop-up exhibition/showroom will be a 3 day event that features a range of designs to experience, view, or purchase. Swing tags on the garments & objects will thoroughly detail the vision for the garment, its production history, and the materials used. The showroom will double as a gallery space with art installations included.
