Everyday Living Japan| 1950’s & Today is an exhibition showcasing Japanese furniture design and manufacturing from the 1950s to the 1960s. The exhibition features works by Isamu Nogouchi, Sori Yanagi, Yamanaka Design Office, Reiko Watanabe, Daisaku Cho, Saburo Innui, and Isamu Kenmochi. Importantly, it was developed in collaboration with the manufacturer Tendo Mokko. These pieces of furniture were designed with both beauty and functionality in mind, carrying on the legacy of past generations. They continue to bring joy to our homes today, serving practical purposes in everyday life. This furniture, designed in the 50s and 60s with heart, craftsmanship, and quality, is still being manufactured, loved, and used today and for many years to come. They are passed down from generation to generation with sustainability and reuse in mind.

The burst of creativity in these designs, and their ability to bring happiness into society, is recognised through the manufacturing partnership of Tendo Mokko, founded in 1940 in Japan. These designs create moments of joy and fulfil functionality, often bringing smiles to the faces of their users.
