Commoners Press is hosting three printing workshops on the theme of healing, replenishing, and enabling life. Each workshop will engage participants in setting their own creative work in response to the theme.
There are three locations; Melbourne CBD, Castlemaine and Coburg. Each of the three workshops will use different materials: metal type for workshop 1, graphic wooden blocks for workshop 2 and printable lego-like elements for workshop 3.
Each workshop accommodates up to 14 participants and will result in a short print-run of an octavo (16pp) format chapbook. The chapbooks will be printed and bound during the workshops for participants to take home. With three locations, three books, and three sets of printing materials, this initiative will result in 42 individual responses to the Melbourne Design Week theme.
