This exhibition brings together objects nominated by Australian creatives, chosen for longevity and lived relationship rather than rarity. These are pieces kept in circulation, shaped by touch, time and routine. Tools, vessels, textiles, paper, hardware and domestic essentials sit at the centre of the work, selected for the way they perform, endure and quietly refine daily life.
The exhibition considers the legacy of keeping itself, the decision to repair, re-use and hold onto what still serves. In a culture of replacement, keeping becomes a design philosophy and a form of stewardship, where usefulness is honoured and objects are allowed to accumulate meaning over time.
Presented as a photographic installation, the work pairs objects with their stories. The Things We Keep offers an intimate study in material honesty, patina and personal archive. It invites visitors to consider what makes an object worth keeping, and how a collection can become a quiet portrait of care, ritual and belonging.
The exhibition is presented at The Front Room Gallery, with a small companion installation presented at The Hub General Store.
A small printed catalogue and a limited release of photographic artworks will be available.
