Session Two

Combining cutting-edge technology with an exclusive behind-the-scenes-tour, The Future Water Story highlights the critical role water plays in supporting life and liveability while exploring how we can prepare our cities for a sustainable future. Be part of this incredible, immersive experience at the Western Treatment Plant where you’ll design your own Future Water Story.

The experience includes two main activities;

CIRCULAR CITIES DIGITAL CHALLENGE
Working in teams for the Circular Cities Digital Challenge, visitors cooperate, collaborate and even negotiate to help create a sustainable city. Designing their city in real-time, the visitors’ decisions help to shape a city over three decades on a large circular LED screen – and with multiple outcomes possible from the decisions made, the city they build together is designed differently each time!

SYSTEMS AND INNOVATION TOUR
Going on a behind-the-scenes Systems and Innovation tour at Melbourne’s largest sewage treatment plant, visitors see (and smell!) how wastewater is transformed through incredible innovation, to be reclaimed and renewed as part of an incredible circular system.

This event is perfect for those passionate about sustainability, innovation, and urban design.
