So You Wanna Be a Designer?

This workshop helps you discover how a simple lunch box can become a journey toward belonging for international Asian design students.

Step into an interactive installation where food becomes a gateway to understanding the often unseen challenges faced by international Asian design students. Across four hands-on stations, participants will assemble a bento box, collecting tokens, recipes and personal stories that highlight experiences of visas, language, cultural translation and resilience.

Participants leave with a completed bento and a deeper understanding of the experiences of designing and studying away from home.
