Shine a Light II is an engaging and thought-provoking one-night storytelling program hosted by Unios that delves into the transformative power and potential of light across the realms of art, architecture, and design.
Following the success of last year’s Shine A Light: Stories Of Lighting A Better World, this year’s continuation initiates dialogue regarding the transformative potential of light and its integral role in shaping experiences that define our everyday lives. It will offer inspiring narratives from five industry-speakers who tell stories about how they harness the power of light to make new from old. They will explore how lighting has played a crucial role in both their personal and professional journeys, presenting a rich and layered understanding of how light influences both our lives and the environments we inhabit.

With over 25 years of experience in the specialised lighting field, Fay embarked on her lighting career at Ingine (formerly known as Michael Popper Associates). She began by designing and personally crafting a 25-metre illuminated sculpture for an adult learning centre in London. Later, she took on the task of redesigning and upgrading the lighting in Westminster Abbey’s historic 12th-century Jerusalem Chamber. Fay’s profound passion for architectural history has led her to illuminate heritage buildings, including the Jerusalem Chamber at Westminster Abbey, Madresfield Court in Malvern (UK), and The Forum in Melbourne. Fay’s versatility has expanded into hospitality and retail lighting, earning her several prestigious lighting awards for her designs.

Dave Anderson
Dave is a practical creative and a commercially astute designer. He derives great satisfaction from delivering outcomes that are not only beautiful, but also on time, on budget and robust. His passion for specialist lighting was ignited back in the 90s at a music festival. Absorbed not only by the music, but also the light show, Dave was inspired by the powerful ambience and energy that could be generated through creative light design. Already studying electrical engineering, he then pivoted into specialist lighting design. Dave prides himself on being able to find creative and aesthetic solutions to challenging briefs. He applies a holistic approach to achieve superior outcomes by working closely with all disciplines and the client to integrate lighting seamlessly into a space rather than layered on top.
