Material Afterlives is a hands-on workshop series hosted at the Salomon Emporium store, unfolding alongside the installation The Future Wears the Weather.

What is the future of running, if not regeneration?

This workshop considers how outdoor performance culture might shift when material reuse, repair and ecological responsibility are treated as central practices. Through critical craft, running is explored as a regenerative practice shaped by connection to the outdoors.

Participants work with surplus and waste materials donated by Salomon, alongside a curated selection of fixtures and modular hardware that enable sewing-free construction. Using fastenings, reinforcements and adaptable components, attendees experiment with extending the life of existing gear and constructing functional objects through low-tech assembly methods.
