Light and mark making become language in this hands-on storytelling workshop for curious kids and their grown-ups with First Nations artist Peter Hood (Kurnai, Yorta Yorta).

Using paper lanterns provided by IKEA, participants will design and decorate their surfaces, sharing stories of family, imagination and belonging.

Inspired by decorative traditions of using objects to tell and share stories, Illuminated Stories invites families to slow down, collaborate and create together – transforming simple design into glowing narrative objects.

Supported by Est. and IKEA, the workshop celebrates accessible design, shared creativity and the quiet magic that emerges when stories take form.

Workshop space furnished and designed by IKEA

Ideal for ages 3+ accompanied by a parent/guardian.
