As Melbourne/Naarm’s population grows and urban growth boundaries expand, the question must be asked: how would you like to get around? Will the comfort and convenience of the car be outweighed by the lack of space to park them? Will public transport become a more enticing option with services so frequent and appealing that you just show up and go? Could walking and cycling grow to be more than a footnote on Melbourne’s mode share statistics with children and adults doing more than a Saturday afternoon stroll or ride? These questions will be debated and possible futures explored by a panel of experts.

Mobility Design Lab
The Mobility Design Lab aspires to push the boundaries of the understanding and execution of mobility. Their primary focus is on how design might improve the physical, environmental and experiential aspects of movement around urban centres. They seek to advance the future of mobility using a sustainability lens, considering decarbonisation and the transition from personal cars to shared, active and micro transport modes.
