First Touch explores the often-overlooked role of fixed domestic artifacts — objects such as handles, hooks, and holders — that shape the intimate spaces of everyday life. Though frequently unnoticed, these fixtures play a crucial role in daily rituals, offering both function and continuity.
The exhibition presents a collection of works that engage with the legacy of designers like Arne Jacobsen, Le Corbusier, and Alvar Aalto, who elevated simple fixtures into considered design elements. By examining their permanence and utility, it invites quiet reflection on their presence in the home and the ways they intersect with memory and routine. Through this lens, the exhibition highlights how these fixed elements contribute to the built environment, balancing practicality with design intent. By drawing attention to their subtle influence, the program encourages a reconsideration of their enduring impact on personal spaces.
