Everyday Rituals brings together Dutoit, Nattier Ceramics and Bookshop by Uro to explore the intersection of design, making and daily ritual. The exhibition presents a new series of Limoges porcelain objects – a cup, small dish, tray and carafe – designed by Dutoit and crafted by Nattier Ceramics in Melbourne/Naarm. Each piece is designed with a quiet versatility, allowing function to evolve through use and routine, and is presented alongside a reading list curated by Uro to echo the exhibition’s themes.
Participants
Dutoit
Dutoit is a Melbourne-based design studio creating furniture, lighting and objects shaped by restraint, material clarity and manufacturing intelligence. Designed and made in Australia, the studio works closely with local manufacturers to develop purposeful pieces in which proportion, construction logic and longevity are embedded in the design outcome.
Nattier Ceramics
Nattier Ceramics is a Naarm/Melbourne-based ceramics practice designing and crafting original handmade porcelain tableware and lighting. Each work is individually slipcast in high-fire Limoges porcelain. Purpose, material and method provide the foundation of all works, with the delicate yet strong properties of the material and the intricacy of the making process evident in every piece.
