A Sculpted Collective is a design activation by ESCULTURA celebrating collaboration across disciplines and communities. ESCULTURA redefines furniture as functional sculpture. Made from custom-coloured micro cement and lime, each piece is fully customisable, environmentally considerate and meticulously handcrafted in Melbourne/Naarm. The result is a tactile surface that is both luxurious and durable, challenging conventional approaches to furniture design and manufacture.

This year, ESCULTURA collaborates with the Interior Design course at Collarts (The Australian College of the Arts) to showcase the potential of collaboration.

Collarts students participated outside of their regular course load to design a piece of furniture that will be made by ESCULTURA. Participating students designed a piece within a specific brief, presented their deigns and underwent a rigorous design review by the ESCULTURA team to further refine their vision. The final designs were submitted, and the winner was selected out of nineteen applicants. This designer will have their piece made and will design a whole scene around their piece. It will be featured at the ESCULTURA showroom for the duration of Melbourne Design Week with a special night to feature their piece and a panel discussion.

ESCULTURA Furniture
More than just furniture – it’s a bold exploration of form, materiality and craftsmanship. A collaboration between Nitsou x Mo (interior designers) and Bishop Master Finishes (surface artisans), the collection fuses innovative design with artisanal techniques to create sculptural, one-of-a-kind pieces. Each piece is hand finished with custom-coloured lime and micro cement, resulting in a surface that is both luxurious and durable. The handcrafted process ensures no two pieces are alike, embracing individuality and artistry in every detail.Born from a desire to challenge conventional furniture production, ESCULTURA reshapes the way we think about design – where sustainability meets sculpture and function meets art. With a highly customisable approach, each piece is tailored to its owner’s vision, all while being meticulously made in Melbourne/Naarm.
