Design By Touch is an innovative and accessible ceramic workshop designed with visually impaired participants front of mind. The workshop provides an opportunity to explore new perspectives in craft and design through sensory experience.

This all-abilities workshop is delivered by artist Kristin Burgham. All welcome.

This workshop is possible thanks to the support of a City of Port Phillip Cultural Development Grant.

Participants

Kristin Burgham
Kristin Burgham is a Melbourne-based ceramicist working with industrial ceramic production processes and found objects. Her considered works are the result of ongoing experimentation and research into the act of making. Through her process of collecting discarded objects, Burgham exposes the working lines of unknown makers. Her limited-edition porcelain works respond to the world we are in and the emotion imbedded in the objects around us. Her sculptural pieces are playful in nature and imbued with memory. Burgham graduated from RMIT with a degree in Fine Art in 2019. Her works are held in the public collections of National Gallery of Victoria, Art Gallery of Ballarat, Shepparton Art Museum and Yarrila Arts Museum.
