Flack Studio is one of Australia’s most celebrated interior architecture practices, renowned for its bold personality, spatial experimentation and deep connection to the creative community. Led by Founder, David Flack, the studio has grown from its earliest beginnings into a multidisciplinary team of architects and designers recognised for crafting contemporary spaces of exceptional character and quality.
For this exclusive event at NGV International during Melbourne Design Week, Flack will reflect on the evolution of the practice and speak to a selection of the studio’s most recognisable projects in conversation with NGV curator Dr Timothy Moore, offering insight into the creative values and influences that continue to shape his work.

David Flack
David Flack is the Founder of Flack Studios which he founded a decade ago and since then he has quickly achieved acclaim for an iconoclastic approach to interiors marked by material, formal and spatial experimentation. A six-time Architectural Digest ‘AD100’ laureate, he grew up in rural Australia, the son of a builder, and credits this background for an approach which despite its evident glamour is anchored in honesty, integrity, and clarity of vision. All qualities he imbues into a vibrant studio of architects, interior and product designers based in a former electro-plating workshop in Melbourne’s inner-city Fitzroy.
Timothy Moore
Dr Timothy Moore is Curator of Contemporary Design and Architecture at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). He is the founder of Sibling Architecture, and Associate Dean (Engagement) at Monash University’s Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture.
