The Latin word arum serves as the inspiration for Fereday’s exhibition title, referencing the origins and transformation of raw material through the process of sand casting.

Fascinated by the tension between natural materials and contemporary design and manufacture, Tom Fereday develops unique designs through an inquiry into the role of objects today. Built on the principle of honest design, his work celebrates the materials and manufacturing processes behind furniture and objects, guiding thoughtful design outcomes that explore the notion of quiet innovation.

Through a holistic approach, he collaborates with renowned local makers, designers and brands, with the shared view that collaboration can lead to more meaningful and resonant results. Tom Fereday works across furniture, product design and lighting with the belief that technical construction, form and expression should be considered as one.

Location
The exhibition will be located at the Oratory from May 14-17 before moving to the Mural Hall from May 17-25.
