ACCESS
From the pop of the cork to the cascade of bubbles, champagne has long been a symbol of life’s high points. It’s the drink we turn to when words fall short, at weddings, launches, wins, farewells, and fresh beginnings. In A Sense of Occasion, the champagne bucket becomes more than an object; it becomes a vessel for these shared human moments, holding not just ice, but a moment to celebrate.
A Sense of Occasion invites designers to reflect on the moments in their own lives that have called for celebration, the milestones, the quiet wins, the unexpected joys. Each designer is encouraged to channel that personal sense of occasion into their work, approaching the task not with solemnity, but with curiosity and play. This exhibition is an opportunity to design for the sheer enjoyment of it: to experiment with unfamiliar materials or to express their masterful skill with a known one. It’s a reminder that not every design needs to solve a problem, sometimes it can simply raise a smile, or a glass. Designers are invited to create a vessel that holds and chills a bottle of wine or champagne.
