Reservation is a play-on-words event that addresses the reservations women and femme-presenting people may face in the design industry while celebrating their rightful place at the table.
Centred around a long communal table, this non-hierarchical gathering features rotating seating arrangements and optional moments for collaboration designed to spark diverse, speed-dating-style conversations. A curated menu of thought-provoking prompts (utilising co-design principles and methodologies) will guide discussions, pulling back the veil on industry challenges and inspiring collaborative solutions.
Positioned as an intimate ‘mental feast’, the event fosters transparency, dialogue, solutions, and connection. Attendees are encouraged to share their thoughts openly and leave with a sense of positive support and resolve.
This event is targeted towards designers currently working in industry. Wine will be provided.

Ellen Waite is an experiential graphic designer, currently working in the exhibition design team at The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). Their personal practice aims to put community at the forefront, weaving together playful graphic design, spatial design and co-design to build meaningful collaborative and interdisciplinary experiences.
Ashley Simonetto
With a decade in the design industry, Ashley Simonetto has built a strong client portfolio, including The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Patagonia, and The Australian Ballet. She brings expert skills in branding, experiential design and marketing graphics to businesses locally and internationally. Her approach is a one-on-one journey, supporting both established and emerging brands in defining their visual narrative and purpose.
