The speakers will discuss how public art is integrated into buildings and public spaces, and what is involved from the viewpoints of the artist, curator, architect and design team. The panel will break down the barriers between design disciplines and demonstrate how industrial design can elevate public art outcomes.

Participants

Tilt Industrial Design
Tilt is an interdisciplinary design consultancy, working across architecture, landscape architecture, public art, and product design. It champions innovation and creativity to achieve exceptional design outcomes in the built environment. Tilt's expertise in design and engineering, advanced manufacturing, and project management enables their clients to realise ambitious design concepts.

Meagan Streader
Meagan is a contemporary Australian lighting artist, whose work pushes the limits of light within sculpture and installation. Through site-specific interventions, her multidimensional use of light re-orientates the viewer’s relationship to the pre-existing architecture and scale of a given space.

Craft Victoria
Craft is dedicated to supporting the production and presentation of craft and design. It champions makers from around Victoria, Australia and beyond, via exhibitions that combine mastery of materials with innovative techniques and big ideas and our rich program of festivals, talks, and community events. Craft offer workshops and on-demand tutorials designed to support makers’ professional development, and joins forces with Australian architects and artists to realise ambitious public and private commissions. Craft's showcase space presents a curated collection of objects — both sculptural and functional — celebrating the breadth and dexterity of contemporary craft.
