What does it mean to practice design as a researcher? This exhibition explores that question through making, reflection and collective experimentation. Featuring artefacts from the Design Research Translations symposium in Prato, Italy, it brings together work by international design researchers examining the relationship between theory and practice in design research.
The exhibition extends this inquiry by inviting design students, PhD candidates and design researchers to participate in workshops that treat practice as a mode of inquiry, knowledge creation and dissemination. An accompanying experimental publication will be launched as part of the exhibition, capturing ongoing research and opening new conversations around practice-led design research.
