La Grande Fête (The Grand Feast)

La Grande Fête (The Grand Feast) is a curated contemporary jewellery exhibition presented by Pieces of Eight Gallery. The exhibition brings together jewellers and designers in dialogue with sculptural, food-inspired objects by design duo DANIEL + EMMA.

Participating artists are invited to create a single ring in direct response to an object. Makers interpret the work through form, colour and material expression, translating the visual and conceptual qualities of the original object into a wearable piece. The brief encourages play and experimentation, while allowing freedom in materials and techniques, from precious metals and gemstones to unconventional elements.

At the heart of the exhibition is a contrast between the fleeting nature of food and the enduring materiality of jewellery. Each ring acts as a response to this tension, transforming an ephemeral reference into a lasting object.

Presented collectively, the works form a ‘feast’ that explores collaboration, material imagination and the expressive potential of contemporary jewellery practice.
