This panel presentation, hosted by Jon McCormack and Rowan Page, focuses on the critical engagement of generative AI in the creative industries. The panel will interrogate and challenge the evolving relationship between AI and creative practice, advocating for a human-centred, ethical and innovation-driven framework for integrating AI into creative practice.

Rowan Page
Rowan Page is an industrial design practitioner and researcher investigating the intersections between theory and practice, artefacts and systems, and making and discourse. His award-winning industrial design practice is underpinned by research rigour, collaboration, detail, process and context. His work demonstrates the role of design in research translation and explores how artefact creation materialises ideologies and fundamental research.

Jon McCormack
Jon McCormack is an Australian-based artist and researcher in computing. His research interests include generative art, design and music, evolutionary systems, computer creativity, human–machine relationships and creative artificial intelligence.Jon is the founder and Director of SensiLab, where he oversees operations, research programs and partnerships. He is also a full Professor jointly appointed by the Faculties of Art, Design & Architecture and Information Technology at Monash University.
