Join designer-maker Patrick Adeney as he opens his doors to his newly finished workshop and studio the public for the first time. The space has been purpose built and fit-out to suit a small business operating within the design landscape. This event includes: a meet and greet, a tour of the premises, machinery explanations and various demonstrations, followed by a presentation and talk by Patrick.

Patrick Adeney
Patrick Adeney is a designer-maker based in Melbourne, Australia. Recently returning to his home state after five years in Tasmania, Patrick is officially opening his new premises during Melbourne Design Week, 2025.Patrick studied Fine Arts at Monash University before undertaking an apprenticeship in cabinet making in 2012. After a decade in the trade sector, Patrick transitioned into fine furniture in 2020 following a relocation to Tasmania. Two years of development preceded his first solo exhibition, Concept to Collection, held in July 2022 at the Long Gallery in Hobart. The success of the exhibition launched Studio Adeney into a full-time practice, developing new work, whilst fulfilling orders for private clients.Patrick exhibited in Sydney and Melbourne over the following year, receiving commendations for his work at Australia's Next Top Designer and VIVID emerging designer exhibitions. In September 2023, Patrick was awarded the acquisitive, $20,000 Clarence Prize for excellence in furniture design, for his Winslow Lounge chair. Patrick held a second solo exhibition Collection in Progress at the Abbotsford Convent during Melbourne Design Week 2024. His work has been printed in publications such as Green Magazine, Houses Magazine, The Local Project, and British Vogue.2025 marks an important milestone for the designer-maker as he opens his first commercial premises in Williamstown North, Melbourne.
