A collaboration between The Company You Keep and London Printers Downey est.1903, Print Histories and Futures displays the processes, outputs and techniques of premier printing. Using emblem printing on stationery as a medium, craft practices are contrasted with commodity print processes to consider the value of fast printing versus intentional, crafted print outputs. Encounter physical samples that demonstrate the enduring impact of considered print applications including five-colour die-stamping, perfect registration, and hand-carved sculpted embossing.

Print Histories and Futures is a part of Slow: a research project that examines the impact of time in creating design that has ongoing relevance.

TCYK
The Company You Keep is a design office working on commissioned and self-directed studies within arts and culture. Grounded in the position that design renders meaning into experience, typologies err to the experiential, spanning strategy, brand, installation, print, placemaking and digital. Precedent is drawn outside of categorical standards to form work that is both novel and distinct. Fundamental to our practice is a curatorial approach; instep with artists, makers and creators.
