Anchor Studio
u1/84 Newlands Road, Reservoir VIC 3073, Australia
Anchor is an interdisciplinary creative practice working across surface, structure and form. With clay as a source material, Anchor exists to build bridges between art, design, architecture and craft. Anchor has a systematic experimental development program as part of its business model.
Join Bruce Rowe and Claire Hatch, Directors of Anchor, for an intimate studio talk on responsible design, material experimentation and object development. The studio visit and talk will cover:
• Reflections on a decade of Anchor’s experimental studio practice
• What is object-based R&D, examples and where does R&D end in the studio?
• Research material and form/object handling opportunity
• Increasing awareness on experimental studio practice and responsible object making
• Anchor’s material & object artefacts, drawings and sketches, prototypes, technical and research processes and Anchor’s digital, searchable, research database
Guests should allow for a two-hour experience including a talk, object and material artefact viewing drawn from our design and research archive, opportunity for Q&A and light refreshments. This is a ticketed event; bookings are essential as capacity is twenty guests. The venue is a working studio environment and while it won’t be operational on the day please wear closed shoes.
