I am a sociologist of fiction and technology with the ARC Centre of Excellence in Automated Decision-Making and Society, at UNSW Sydney. My work brings together creative and qualitative methods from social research, media studies and design to explore how people understand, feel about and imagine the future of emerging technologies. My PhD was awarded in 2018.
I am passionate about the accessibility and creativity of research. As such, as well as publishing in globally renowned publications such as Nature and American Journal of Cultural Sociology, I routinely lead hands-on open workshops for students and publics at local, national and international events. Since 2018, I have also run the online publication So Fi Zine (www.sofizine.com) which publishes sociological fiction, poetry and visual art.
